Rotary Club of Green Bay Presents Adult Youth Leadership Award to Jim Hill

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                                                 June 22, 2009

Each year since 1997, the Rotary Club of Green Bay presents the Adult Youth Leadership Award to a person or persons, who through their commitment and volunteer spirit, have enriched the lives of Green Bay's youth. The 2009 recipient is Jim Hill, MS, CSAC, ICS, Clinical Supervisor of the Libertas Treatment Center; which provides alcohol and drug rehabilitation services to adolescents and their families. Jim will receive the award at the Club’s Noon meeting on June 29 at the Hotel Sierra.

Jim developed the clinical programs for the adolescent inpatient and outpatient programs.  He supervises these programs and the counselors who provide the services on a daily basis.  Several thousand adolescents and their parents have been helped by Jim and his counselors over the past 20 years.  It is difficult to say how many of these kids would have suffered premature death, prison or dysfunctional lives due to their addictions, without the help of Jim and the Libertas Treatment Center.

“Jim and his staff recognize addiction is a family illness and both the client and family members must be educated and involved in the treatment process,” said David Yeghiaian, Rotary Club of Green Bay President. ”Our Rotary Club is honored to present this award to Jim based on his amazing contributions to youth in our community.”

Those who know Jim are amazed by his ability to rise to the challenge every day to assist kids who resist help, to educate parents who deny the nature of the problems and to deal with payers reluctant to pay for treatment for those in great need.
