Men’s Closet In Need of Winter Coats

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                                                 January 21, 2009

(Green Bay, WI) The Men’s Closet, a partnership between the Rotary Club of Green Bay and The Salvation Army, is in dire need of winter coats at its Mason Street location.  The Men’s Closet provides free, work-appropriate clothing for men in need. The extremely cold winter has increased the need to supply coats and the winter is far from over.

“In the past year the Men’s Closet has served more than 700 men providing work and casual clothing” said Jack Wahr of the Rotary Club, “nearly a 50% increase over last year.  The combination of the economy and the severity of the winter has made the need for coats even greater than in past years” said Wahr.

The Men’s Closet is located at 719 Redwood Drive on the corner of West Mason Street and Redwood.  It has a separate entrance on the side of The Salvation Army Store, 1125 West Mason Street in Green Bay. See also www.greenbayrotary.com.

Donations can be dropped off at the Hotel Sierra on Feb. 9 and 16 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm (333 Main Street, Green Bay) or during the Men’s Closet hours:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to Noon

Donations can also be dropped off at The Salvation Army Store on West Mason St., but please make sure they are clearly marked for the Men’s Closet.
