A Message from Club President Thom Cody

Hello & Thanks for Stopping In!

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Green Bay, District 6220. Rotary is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million professional, community, and business leaders. As Rotarians, we have the honor and privilege of working alongside other men and women in our community and throughout the world to provide humanitarian services and, ultimately, to promote goodwill and peace throughout the world. With more than 34,000 Rotary Clubs in more than 217 countries and geographical areas, Rotary is open to all cultures, races, creeds and religious beliefs.

Our diversity is our strength! United by our motto of Service Above Self and an intense desire to change the world, our Club has been influential in providing many local community services. These services include: the Men’s Closet, Poverty and Hunger Food Drives in partnership with local businesses, Youth Leadership Development and raising funds to give to local charitable foundations. Internationally, our Club is dedicated to the global eradication of polio with the financial assistance of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and we continue to look for more ways to partner internationally every year.

Rotary International’s theme this year is “Reach Within, To Embrace Humanity”. As Rotarians, we are challenged to first look within to appreciate that each of us is a unique, one of a kind bright light in the world! While we possess unique gifts and talents, we share a common bond of dreams, hopes and aspirations and a strong desire to change the world. It is here where our true strength lies.

The Rotary Club of Green Bay will continue the momentum of 2010-2011 and focus on completing and building on the successes of last year. The goals for our club in 2011-2012 are simple:

To explore, appreciate, understand and leverage the unique gifts and talents each of us bring to the world and look for opportunities to bring those gifts together in the spirit of collaboration to change the world! We will:

  • Focus on successful collaborations in all that we do, within our club, the community and between the four clubs in Green Bay & De Pere
  • Seek to explore, understand, appreciate and leverage the individual gifts and talents of our members within our club and in the community
  • Focus our efforts to have a material impact on everything we do

It is my belief we can more fully appreciate and leverage the gifts we all have, allowing us to build true collaboration that meaningfully impacts change in our clubs, community and the world. By “Reaching Within To Embrace Humanity”, we will honor our motto of Service Above Self and truly change the world together!

So if you are looking for the opportunity to change the world, make people’s lives better and want to have fun doing it with great people come and join us!

May joy and peace surround you,
Contentment latch your door,
And happiness be with you now,
And bless you ever more.

Blessings & Keep Smiling,

Thom Cody

President, 2011-2012
